December 26, 2006

We had a fantastic christmas morning as I hope you all did too. This year the tree was packed, more this year than I every remember it. Joe truly made out like a bandit, think the Grandma and Grandpas got a little crazy - though he was not complaining. His aunts and uncles chipped in their fair chunk too, not to mention everyone else (yes ... including mom and dad).

Jeep from Uncle Kurt, Uncle Brendan, and Aunt Kari

Desk from Grandma Bev - "Do I have to do my homework now?"

Gift opening was interrupted by a visit from our local water park - rain clouds, we had winds kicking in gusts of rain through our screen ... and Joe hauled Uncle Kurt out to enjoy the thrills.

Soaked to the bone we got changed, dried our carpets/blinds/etc from open windows, and returned to the presents.

Pull here and ... poof ... toys!

Grandpa walked off with a tool case

Grandma got some music

Kurt snagged an iDog ... which Joe took a liking too

All-in-all, we all snagged plenty of sweet loot ... too much to list here, but a big thank-you goes out to everyone. I am sure it will all get well used. That evening we all sat down as a family to enjoy our first family christmas dinner hosted by Melissa and I ... turned out fantastic. And now I will be enjoying turkey for weeks to come ... so bellies full, toys put away, we look to packing for G&Gs trip home. What a holiday ... you really made this christmas one to remember. We are sorry you have to go.

Now, out to cruise for chicks

Hung by the ... chair

December 25, 2006

The loot is packed under the tree, the coffee setup, the stockings hung ... and the kid tucked into bed. We are all looking forward to an incredible christmas morning of toy-joy overload. Hope everyone has a very merry christmas day ... wish we could be there. ... Nah! ... I am lying ... we are hitting the beach tomorrow and it is hard to beat that. (If anyone send me shots of them on a ski slope I will string them up by their toe nails).

Merry Christmas.

Holidays a cometh

December 19, 2006

Can we go around again?

Grandma and Grandpa have come to visit. Time for a little R&R, which seems to be passing along to the sponge. It is so fun to have them in town and be able to share our first christmas in our new place with family. Now, Kurt ... your missing story time.

Good books, good weather, good times

See the cow, and the pig, and the ...

It's beginning to look a lot like...

December 12, 2006

Ahhh ... no it's not. But the carols are being sung on the radio and the calendar countdown is on ... so we figured we should catch up and get the tree up. So with the help of the McCoy's and Krishen we stomped into the woods and pulled out this beautiful pine ... trouble is, we couldn't fit it in the house. So we made due with the old standby - completely modeled after the original ... honest.

The kids had not hung out in a while - so they visited

While we handled the de-knotting

Then we showed them how it was done

Oh, Melissa, thats gotta hurt!

It was a great evening with friends, dessert, and hot chocolate. Tis the season!

Good job Joe, with special mention to the bulb itself, looks very energy efficient or expensive or something.

Meet stewie, our new family friend. Melissa picked Stewie up in our back yard with a nasty cracked shell, so we thought we would bring him in and find out what best to do with him.

Also, last evening, Joe started his duties in the kitchen and helped mom and dad make soup.
