Visits to cheese country

March 29, 2007

Ok, so here I am. Back in the land of cheese, and it is spring time here. You can smelling it in the air.

Things have gone well, couple problems ... but I think Milestone #2 has been met. We are headed back there this morning for a final review of the system before heading home this evening. Then it is back to work ... well ... maybe on Monday.

As the months roll by...

March 18, 2007

My new favorite toy ... thanks Grandpa

We are now into the final trimester of Kid 2.0, the upgrade everyone is looking forward to. Things are coming along very well and we are very excited to have yet another addition to our family.

There was also a surprise this week, we were told that a "package" was delivered to our old address ... a "package"? Well, turns out it was a Christmas present that was accidently mislabeled, FedEx just passed it along to the address they had on file ... thanks guys. Joe of course was very excited to find a present waiting for him in the morning ... and even more excited to find a 'Super Transporter' inside. He immediately loaded the cars and has not wanted to put it down since. (We could probably just put away all his other toys).

I also wanted to share something I heard in a phone message at work. Melissa was sure to capture it on video so you could all hear. Our little boy ... growing up.

Yay Joe! just think by the time i get there in August you will be able to say "Auntie Kari" wether you know who that is or not is a different story. I look forward to seeing more videos:)
Love you all!

Put me in coach

March 15, 2007

Joe and I turned our living room into a hockey rink this pass weekend. We both grabbed our sticks and practiced passing and scoring all around the downstairs of our house ... oh yes, Melissa was happy with that one (she was more laughing than anything). Funny thing is, now when I get home from work the first thing Joe does is take me into the garage to get my stick ... oh, I love being Dad :)

You coming Dad?

First we go this way...

Then we go that way...

Joe has the use of simulation down pat as he prepares for his future responsibilities.

Nice choice in wheels, Joe. I just hope you can drive better than my kids.

End Game

March 12, 2007

Don't drop the disk

So, we are at the end game ... the days have been long, the weeks have been stretched, and my sanity is treading a very thin line. Yet, the light at the end of the tunnel is visible, faint yes, but visible.

Actually, things are going decently well and the project is really shaping up nicely. While more UI refinement could be done and there are still some bugs to fix, I am very happy with how things are turning out.

So, I have another week of focused development and a week of testing before I head to Wisconsin. I am happy to see the end of this phase approaching, but at the same time I have really enjoyed the code - gah, there is that geek in me again :)

Glad to have you back on line with the updates, I was wondering if Florida had a black out - or if Cam was just working way too much...which he is!

Great picture - looks so nice and warm there!
See you soon, Hugs to all

Glad to hear things are looking like they are settling down a bit. What's up in Wisconsin? More work I suppose. Sure looks great down there. We did get to 15 C today and then about 4 pm the temp took a dive to 2 C and at 9pm it was snowing to beat the band. Only in Calgary!!!!!!
Only 30 days to go Melissa and Joe. Too bad daddy has to work eh? Somebody has too.
