When 'What Time is it Mr. Wolf' turns bad

February 9, 2009

Some would say that a you should never go into a land war in Asia...

... but I would offer up that a bookshelf can also be a formidable opponent!

This evening, Joe fell back against a bookshelf ... with most clinics closed and an emergency visit was going to be a 4.5 hr wait, since it was questionable whether or not it needed a stitch we are going to take a wait and see approach. The gash is a good one though, at least mom is right there doing what she does best. A little TLC and some ice can mend almost any wound.

It'll probably need at least one stitch. Christopher's did when we smacked his head on a stone column last year. The worst part will be the bald spot on the back of his head though.

I sure hope Joe got some ice cream for all of his pain?
Seeing it in a picture is a bit easier than seeing it in person - at least I am not passing out right now!

BIG hugs,
Grandma

The true hockey experience

February 9, 2009

Melissa and the boys headed to the rink this evening to watch cousin Tyler play.

Ahh ... the smell of the rink, the sound of the ice, the annoying moms yelling from the stands. You can't get much better than that!

"the annoying moms yelling from the stands."

For the record, this is Cam interjecting his own childhood memories. There were no such moms out tonight. :)

There were a few of those AYM's over the years. I even remember one Grandmother yelling at her grandson while he was in the penalty box (with 4 other teammates). She very emphatically told him she didn't come to watch him sit in the "box". But, the 5 players sitting in the penalty box gave Cameron some much needed ice time since we had driven 3.5 hrs. to play this game.

Well if Cameron wasn't a 3rd string player maybe he would get more ice time.

haha

I try to keep my yelling to a minimum Cam. :) Great pics Miss!

Come on now ... everyone loves the moms. But as a kid, while you love it, it is always "geez mom ... the cowbell ... again!!!!?"

lol ... I love all hockey moms and dads. Without them, there would no hockey!!!

for you Cam.

I wish you could play with me one day, did you hear dad played ???????? And I missed it, so upset about that :( and he wussed out this passed sat.

Posted by: Kurt at February 11, 2009 4:57 AM

Oh I hate the cowbell moms!! I had one last year...I wanted to shove it up her....well you get the idea.
Our way of embarrassing the boys this year is we are getting pom poms for the tournament in Edmonton. lol Their quiet but we can still make an ass out of ourselves and sometimes that is the best part of hockey tournaments! :)

Snow time fun

February 1, 2009

So, Melissa and the boys have left me in Florida to travel to the snowy fields of Alberta. While I will join them before the month is out ... they got to visit Nana and Papa, Auntie Amanda and their many cousins.

Here are some shots of them having fun ... oh, how I wish I was there.
